Photography Walk with Phil Holden March 31st 2018 Caswell Bay(Now fully booked*)
Explore the photographic opportunities on Gower with experienced location photographer Phil Holden
The AGNES, of West Hartlepool, aground at Whiteshell
Point just to the east of Caswell. (Photographed by James Andrews, from
the Gareth Mills collection) The port Anchor is still plainly visible
Follow the footpath to the scene of the SS Agnes wreck and then onto Langland Point. The especially low tide on the 31st reveals the propellor and boiler of the cargo ship, which was travelling from Rouen to Swansea, and was wrecked when sheltering from a gale in Caswell Bay. The low tide also extends the coastal habitat considerably and so too the opportunity for wildlife photos while the path itself reveals landscapes all along the way. There is also the chance of surfing photography.
As the tide moves in and the light lowers, there will be a further opportunity for photography on the beach for those interested.
The workshop will explore
what makes a good photograph in terms of composition and subject matter.
Phil will share his 30 years' experience as a professional photographer,
and give tips and advice for taking the best photographs.
